Varsity Maroon shuts out Trinity Episcopal

John Moses ’19 pitched six innings, striking out 10 batters and only allowing two hits to pick up the win over 2018 VISAA state tournament qualifier, Trinity Episcopal from Richmond. Jarin Moses ’22 came on in relief to get the final out of the sixth inning, inducing a popup to shortstop John Moses to end the game in the bottom of the 7th inning. Henry Sergenian ’19 was 2-3 with a run and two stolen bases, John Moses added two hits and an RBI and Joseph Notzon ’20 continued his torrid hitting with three hits, one RBI, one run and a stolen base. Emmett Morehead ’21 made a key defensive play at third base in the second inning to rob a Trinity hitter of an extra base hit while also driving in Kidron Kollin ’19 with a sixth-inning single. Notzon also made an outstanding catch in left field to rob a Trinity hitter of an extra base hit in the third inning.
