After Third Loss, Maroon Girls Remain Optimistic For Season's End

The last time that Stone Ridge and Episcopal met, the Maroon were able to secure a close victory at home.
On Saturday, the team was down two key players and knew they'd have to work that much harder to earn a victory. The Gators initially built an early lead, but Hannah Boone '22 stopped the bleeding combining a gorgeous three with 2-2 shooting at the charity stripe. EHS continued to slowly chip away at the lead in the second. Lucy Dixon '21 and Mary Ives Giblin '19 nailed consecutive shots while Isabel Schneider '21 was a rebounding machine on the interior of the defense. At the half, Episcopal trailed 33-21.

Episcopal continued wrestling the Gators in the final two periods. Dymin Gerow '20 was nearly unstoppable, recording four of her total five threes In the second half, while Haley Sabol '20 used her physical play to frustrate Stone Ridge. The Maroon struggled with foul trouble in the final sixteen, however, and also had a tough time limiting their opponent's hot three-point shooting. The Gators found themselves atop a 68-45 margin by the end of play.
