Strong Day for Boys Track & Field in Flippin Fieldhouse

Episcopal hosted the annual Hoxton Invitational in Flippin Fieldhouse’s Cathcart Track. Twelve teams from the DC Metro area battled for the team competition and also tested out their final speed and strength heading into the State Championships. This was a huge day for the Maroon team as school records were broken and for the first time a Maroon relay team qualified for the New Balance National Championships Sprint Medley Relay race.
Cam Robinson ‘19 lead off the boys 4x800-meter team with a personal best time 2:06.8. James Dixon ‘19 had a season best time in the 500-meters after a solid leg on the 4x800 as well, and is ready to make a huge breakthrough at the State Meet coming up. Tre Simmons '20 ran a season best time on the 4x800 as the team ran its final prep for the State Meet coming up next week, where they are shooting for Top 3 All-State finish.
 
Chris Denning '19 ran his first 1600-meter of the season and after shaky week of health was still able to pull off a personal best time as he builds up for his best showing at the State Meet. Teammate and training partner Rob Deaton '20 knocked off four seconds from his season best time this year and will be poised for a solid finish to the season coming up.

Senior Jon Grunau '19 also had a his best day in the fieldhouse in his final home meet for The Maroon, tossing a personal record in the shot put event
