Wrestling Wins Alexandria City Meet
The varsity wrestling team beating host St. Stephen's & St. Agnes and two other local teams.
The dual meet wins raised our record to 9-6 overall, 2-2 in the IAC. Perhaps as exciting as the wins was the spirit and enthusiasm demonstrated by the bench as the event progressed. The team’s collective excitement over the performances of their teammates was emblematic of the culture to which the team aspires. In addition, there were numerous moments in which it appeared individual wrestlers had breakthroughs in the ways they executed technique. This was most evident in the final dual of the evening against Bishop Ireton as the Maroon won eight of the 10 bouts actually contested (each team forfeited two weights), with six of those coming by fall. It was the team’s most compete dual meet performance of the year.
