Flint Hill Defeats Maroon in Final Moments

On the first play of the ISL matchup against Flint Hill, Dymin Gerow '20's fantastic lob to Haley Sabol '20 led to an and-one play.
With this momentum, the Maroon jumped out to an early 10-3 lead and forced the visitors to take the first timeout of the game. The veteran Huskies settled themselves and chipped away at the deficit while tightening up defensively. Episcopal, conversely, began to make uncharacteristic turnovers against their opponent's press. Unable to find any fluidity in the second quarter, EHS found themselves down 31-21 at the half.

While the third quarter favored the Huskies, Episcopal made a rousing comeback in the final stanza. Down 15 with six minutes remaining, the team applied a man-to-man press that frustrated Flint Hill and converted to points. A trifecta by Gerow and a three-point play by Maya Thompson '20 fueled this comeback effort, and a pair of Sabol free throws tied the game with just under two minutes remaining. The senior-heavy Flint Hill squad continued to showcase poise on both ends, however, as they hit some big buckets down the stretch to secure the 56-47 win.
