Climbing Teams Face Flint Hill, Girls Varsity Remains Undefeated

The Episcopal climbing teams faced Flint Hill at EarthTreks in Rockville, Md. The varsity girls plan to remain undefeated for the regular season while the boys faced a very strong, league-leading Flint Hill team.
The girls kept their streak alive, winning 109-70. The boys lost in a strong effort 109-126. The JV girls also won 64-26 while the JV boys lost 56-66. However, every climber on the team scored at least one 5.10 route or better—a huge benchmark for the team. The individual rankings are below:

Gracie Guest '19 earned the top spot for our team in the meet, top spot for the girls, and fourth place overall. She graciously agreed to give her spot to a teammate on the varsity, so her 5.11b and 5.11c routes for 25 points probably set the league record for JV score. She'll be back on the varsity next week. Mei Kuo '19, Jane Owen '19, Kidron Kollin '19, and Thomas Adkins '20 all tied with 24 points for 5th place in the meet. The girls scored 5.11c, 5.11a routes while the boys topped dual 5.11b's. Barrett Carney '19 (two 5.11a's) and Sam Lipschutz '22 (5.10d, 5.11b) were up next with 22 points apiece and 9th place. Arabella Dixon '21 and Arden Faires '19 both finished a pair of 5.10d problems to tie for 12th place with Bobby Zahorsky '22 at 20 points off his 5.11a and 5.10c climbs.

Olivia Tucker '19 earned 19 for her first varsity score of the season on strong 5.10d and 5.10c routes. She tied Juliet Faris '19 and Bobby Hood '19, who each climbed the same. Cindy Xin '20 also came in at 19 after scoring her first ever 5.11a route to pair with a 5.10b. Arianna Otoo '21 had her first start on varsity and scored 18 points (5.10b, 5.10d) for the last spot on the top 20 leaderboard. Bridget McAree '21, Finn Walker '20, and Charles Zheng '22 paired 5.10b's for 16 points. Amir Ludena '22 was up next with 15 points (5.10a/b). Forbes Dudley '21, Zoe Smith '22, and Cindy Wang '21 each got dual 5.10a routes for 14 points. Debby Lee '21 scored a 5.10a and a 5.9 for 12 points. Yoyo Wang '22 scored a very strong 5.10c route but couldn't complete a second climb, earning 9 points.
