JV Squash Falls to St. Catherine's

The JV girls squash team had its first loss of the season against a very strong St. Catherine's squad away in Richmond.
Though the team lost 2-7, 3-10 overall, the match had its bright spots, and the team certainly learned quite a bit. Notching the two wins for the top nine, Madalein Amoako '22 at #1 and Katherine Allen '20 at #3 played excellent matches. Amoako handily defeated her opponent in three games. Allen's match went to four games during which she steadily gained composure and confidence, and won the match with her crushing serves. Caroline Hunt '22, playing exhibition at #13, also won her match and did a really nice job balancing forecourt and backcourt shots. Also notable were #2 Lilja Kjaernested '22 and #4 Carson Allen '20, both of whom played to five games, losing in the end but staying competitive and sharp throughout.
