JV Girls Win First Away Game

The JV girls basketball team played their first away game, against Madeira.
It was evident early on that the Snails were an even match, and just as hungry for their first win of the season. Lucy Hankins '22 drilled a three-point bomb to put the Maroon up early followed by a series of beautiful jumpers by Elle Dorrian '22Olivia Shackelford ’21, Pem Pem Dorji ’22 and Landon O’Malley ’22 had some impressive defensive plays to end the second quarter. The Snails seemed to match each point in turn and it was tied at halftime.

The High School came out strong in the third quarter when Maya Taybron ’22 found her sweet spot. Hadley Applegate ’22Catherine MacKinnon ’21Lauren McAllister ’22, and Ta’Miyah Alexander ’22 held the Snails to only a few points in the fourth quarter with excellent defense and Flora French ’21 ate up the boards on both sides. The Maroon came out victorious with a final score of 29-26.
