Maroon Falls to Tigers in Game 1 for Trophy

The boys varsity squash team traveled to Orange to begin the annual home-and-away contest for the Amos-Willet Trophy.
Historically, the Maroon have been the better side, but each year is different and unknown until you hit the courts. The Tigers were ready on this particular day. From the initial serves in the even ladder players, the rallies and games were hotly contested. Within the first round of play, Hansen Ogden '22, and Charlie Teeters '20 registered decisive 3-0 wins each, but the WFS opponents at positions 4 and 6 stretched those Episcopal boys and earned two team points of their own. The overall score was 2-2 at the turn-over. Within the second round of play, Thomas Williamson '19 and Luke Mascatello '19 moved EHS closer to the all-important team total of five wins. But, despite great effort witnessed on the remaining courts, that deciding point was secured by the home team.

This loss is the first match loss against rival Woodberry in many years, but the contest is not yet over... if Episcopal wins at home against WFS by more matches and games, the aggregate score will 'make right" the EHS squash world.
