JV Jamboree Results

On Thursday December 6 Episcopal high school hosted a JV Jamboree in the Bocock Wrestling Cage. EHS were joined by wrestlers from St. Albans, Bullis, St. John Paul the Great, Landon, and St. Stephen’s St. Agnes.
After being taken down early in the match against a Landon, Connor Evans ’22 scored a reversal and controlled a lot of the match. He wrestled well on top but lost by minor decision.  

Collin Fitzpatrick ‘19 wrestled an opponent from St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes. He managed to repel his opponents early takedown attempts but could not score from his attempted head and arm. Fitzpatrick scored a reversal in the 2nd period, and returned his opponent to the mat to prevent him escaping, but ultimately lost by minor decision.

Alex Manoogian ‘22 wrestled opponents from St. John Paul the Great and Bullis, controlling both matches from start to finish. In his first bout, Manoogian executed an arm pass to back heal trip to score in his first bout and eventually secured a near side cradle to tilt to win by fall. In his second bout, he survived two headlock to throw attempts by his opponent to win the match by fall.

Tommy Nguyen ‘20 was taken down early in his match against Landon, but managed to score a reversal before the period ended. After his opponent escaped, Nguyen attempted a high crotch shot but was taken down again in the process. Tommy was on top to begin the second period, but was unable to prevent his opponent from scoring a reversal and ultimately lost the match by fall.

Stefan Olsen ‘21 found himself on the defensive for the majority of the match against his Landon opponent. Olsen managed to escape multiple times from his opponent, and his determination prevented him from being pinned. He lost the match by major decision.

Dylan Sexton ‘22 wrestled an opponent from St. Albans. He managed to snap his opponent down to score and followed up with an impressive mat return to thwart his escape. In the ensuing scramble, Dylan managed fight his way into a pinning scenario and won the match by fall.

Conrad Suppes ‘21 wrestled an opponent from St.  Albans. After two shot attempts that nearly ended with points, Suppes was taken down by his opponent. He eventually broke his opponent down with a thigh pry before securing a tight half-Nelson and winning the match by fall.

Hayes Talley ‘21 wrestled an opponent from St. Albans. He repelled his opponent’s shot attempts before snapping him down to score. Hayes returned his opponent to the mat to prevent him from scoring escape points. In the second period, Hayes began on bottom and escaped to score. He again snapped his opponent down before securing a near side cradle and won the match by fall.

Justin Yi ‘22 wrestled two bouts against opponents from Bullis. In his first bout of the evening, Yi displayed his great shooting ability by scoring multiple takedowns. He secured near fall points, but was unable to secure the fall, going on to win the match by major decision. In his second bout, Justin was a bit more aggressive and scored an early single leg takedown before using a power half-Nelson to turn his opponent. Yi won the match by fall.
