Maroon Falls in Toss-Up With Saints

St. Christopher's arrived to the Goodman Squash Center with their most complete team, top to bottom, they've had in years. Scouting indicated that this match would be close—and it was.
When the first four matches of "even" players took to the court, the pendulum of points and games seemed to swing one way and then another. Playing at #2, Hansen Ogden '22 continued his surgical winning ways and downed his man in 3; and Charlie Teeters '20 was clinical with his patented power drives to take is opponent in three games, as well. The other "evens" worked hard in the courts, but the St. Chris roster depth and experience favored the Saints.

At the changeover to "odd" ladder players, the match was tied 2-2. With the "odds" of #'s 3, 5, 7, and 9, only Luke Mascatello '19 secured a win; he was a grinder on the court who refused to be outworked.

Even though the team tallies had already registered a clinched win for St. Christopher's, captain and #1 Thomas Williamson '19 took to the court with the single-minded task to win his match. After a series of rallies that inched points back and forth for both sides, the game and match settled into a good groove.  Williamson dictated play with punishing power to depth, and was able to pepper unsuspected drop shots for good variety. Now 3-0 in all interscholastic play, Williamson has earned himself a rightful spot among the best in the league.
