View Highlights from Spring Family Weekend!
The slightly chillier-than-usual weather couldn’t hold back, or hold a candle to, the warmth and joy of Spring Family Weekend on April 20 & 21.
A full plate of events and activities that began early Friday morning in Callaway Chapel and concluded on playing fields and in the waters of the Occoquan River Saturday afternoon (and even returned to the woods of Laird Acres on Saturday night!) kept the extended Episcopal community of students and parents, siblings and grandparents, informed and entertained throughout the weekend.
Some 300 families and 90 grandparents — well over 600 visitors — spent some or all of the weekend stretch on The Holy Hill. They gathered in the shared spaces of Stewart Gym, the Chapel, and Pendleton. They also spent quality time catching up with the students in their home-away-from home at Episcopal.
Highlights of the program-packed weekend included:
A panel of faculty and staff discussed Episcopal’s increased focus this school year on student sleep health, including implementing Project SNZ (“snooze”) and a trial schedule designed to alleviate sleep deprivation and homework overload.
A packed Pendleton enjoyed a Performing Arts Showcase that included performances by nine different student groups — three instrumental ensembles, two choral groups, two a capella groups, and two dance troupes.
The Annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day reception and program, featuring welcome remarks by Head of School Charley Stillwell, as well as a series of captivating, brief presentations on Episcopal’s academic program from a handful of students and teachers.
We could go on! Below is a comprehensive list of links to photos and video of various events from the weekend for quick reference. All events available on LocalLive require parents to register for their own account, after which any of the links below should be accessible.
