Jessie George

Biography:
Jessie joined the EHS faculty in the fall of 2015. She currently teaches advanced U.S. history and two history electives. She also serves as the Evans Dorm Head and coaches girls’ crew. After a decade in D.C.’s Dupont Circle, she now lives on campus with her cat Darcy. In her free time, Jessie loves to play along while watching Jeopardy, read, cook, do crossword puzzles, and travel. 

Jessie attended high school at Phillips Exeter Academy. She graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University, where she pursued a degree in history and English and joined The Corp, the largest entirely student-run 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in the world. After graduating from college, Jessie joined Teach for America and taught in the Hartford, Conn., public schools for two years.

Before coming to Episcopal, Jessie worked at the Cesar Chavez Public Charter Schools for Public Policy in Washington, D.C. While at Chavez, she taught world history for four years at the Capitol Hill campus and then served as the social studies curriculum specialist for the entire network of schools.
