The Rev. Betsy Carmody

Biography:
As head chaplain, Betsy oversees all chapel and vestry services and other worship events and works with the assistant chaplain to support service learning opportunities and events on and off campus. She also teaches Biblical Theology to sophomores and seniors, as well as, the senior elective “Who Is My Neighbor?” in the spring semester.

Betsy grew up in Birmingham, Ala., and graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Full-time ministry called Betsy as she spent more time serving with middle and high school students in parish ministry at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in D.C. and diocesan ministry as the co-chair for the Committee on Youth for the Diocese of Washington. Betsy has been elected three times to serve as a deputy to the General Convention of the Episcopal Church.
