Biography:
Whit arrived at Episcopal in 1987 and has been actively engaged in EHS students’ lives ever since, save one year spent in France, teaching for School Year Abroad. Whit teaches English and is a Campus Supervisor. He worked for many summers in Oxford, England, teaching undergraduates for UNC’s Summer Shakespeare Program, and he enjoys sharing his obsession with EHS students and taking advantage of the local theater scene.

After coaching the varsity golf team for over two decades, Whit shifted over to the baseball diamond, where he helps with both the JV and varsity teams. He also coaches the boys JV squash team, having worked with both the boys and girls varsity teams in past years. Whit and his wife Alison Grossman have two children, Natalie ’17 and Jacob ’19. Outside of the classroom, Whit enjoys hiking in the North Carolina mountains, watching the Nationals play baseball, or reading a good book.
