Biography:
Sam is a graduate of the University of Richmond, where he majored in Spanish and international studies and was elected to the Hispanic Honor Society. He produced a radio program for the campus radio station and had his artwork selected for inclusion in an exhibit at Richmond’s Marsh Art Gallery. Sam spent a semester living, studying, and playing basketball for a college, ITESO, in Guadalajara, Mexico. He earned his master’s degree in Latin American Studies at Georgetown University.

Sam joined the EHS faculty in 2007 after spending three years at Westtown School in Pennsylvania, where he taught Spanish and served as co-facilitator for the Mexican Exchange Program and senior class advisor. He was also a dorm parent and coached basketball and track.

In addition to teaching Spanish and Latin American history at EHS, Sam also serves as the 10th Grade Dean and is assistant coach of the girls' varsity basketball team. He is on the Hoxton Dorm team, and has three children, Riker, Sebastian, and Adella with his wife Charissa; two dogs, Rocky and Simon; and two cats, Tei and Koku.
