Biography:
Julie was a college English teacher in China for more than 10 years and has spent seven years in the United States as a speech analyst, Chinese legal translator, computer teacher, and Mandarin Chinese teacher. For two years, Julie was a Mandarin Chinese instructor at Montclair State University, where she incorporated her language background, cultural knowledge, and technological know-how into her classroom teaching.

At EHS, Julie teaches five levels of Mandarin Chinese and believes that her role as an educator goes well beyond teaching the Chinese language and culture. “I need to encourage students’ natural curiosity and facilitate the development of creative and critical thinking, skills that will prepare the students for their future beyond the Episcopal classroom.” She lives on Dalrymple Dorm and is a member of the dorm team.
