Biography: 
Monika graduated from Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in Middle East Studies/International Relations. While at Brown, she ran for the women’s Track & Field team and was a member of Buxton International House. Monika earned master’s degrees in fiction writing and Anglo-Irish literature from Johns Hopkins University and Trinity College, Dublin, respectively. Before joining the faculty at EHS, she taught at independent schools in the DC area, including Maret and Oakcrest. She has also been involved in humanitarian work in Bosnia and Haiti. At EHS, Monika teaches two electives, Nobel Prize Literature and a poetry elective, in addition to 9th grade English. Monika currently lives in Washington, DC.
