Alexander "Alec" Robinson

Departments and Positions:
• Classics Teacher
Biography:
Alexander (Alec) teaches Greek and Latin, and his fascination with Classical literature and history began when he took Greek and Latin at boarding school in Rhode Island. Prior to Episcopal, Alexander taught at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes in Alexandria.

Before pursuing a Master’s in Latin and becoming a Classics teacher, Alec practiced law, trying criminal cases as a prosecutor, first in his home of Mobile, Alabama, then in South Carolina.

In the classroom, Alec’s rich professional history of arguing cases helps bring to life both the practical applications of Classics and the vividness of the ancient world.

Outside of the classroom, Alec helps maintain the rare book collection at Episcopal. He also plays resonator slide guitar and reads avidly. Alec lives in Alexandria with his wife and three daughters.
