Biography:
With more than 20 years in education, Amila has experience in both independent and public school systems. She has served as an administrator, teacher, coach, advisor, dorm parent, Dean of Students, and Director of Student Life. Educational opportunities have taken her to metro Atlanta, the north Georgia mountains, and Long Island, N.Y.

Amila is a native of Philadelphia, but grew up in Silver Spring, Md., just around the beltway from Episcopal; she is happy to be back in the area where she attended both middle and high school. Amila earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish and Political Science. Her love for the Spanish language was nurtured during a service abroad program as a high school student in Oaxaca, Mexico. This was then cemented during a semester abroad in the Dominican Republic as a college junior. After several years in education, Amila earned her master’s degree in Curriculum Design and Instruction through Central Michigan University.

At Episcopal, Amila serves as the Dean of Residential Life, teaches a section of Spanish and coaches track and field. She lives with her husband, Thaddius Williams, and their children.
