WHERE DID YOU ATTEND HIGH SCHOOL? HOW DOES EHS COMPARE TO THE SCHOOL YOU ATTENDED?

I attended a private catholic school in Punjab, India. Culturally, it was very different. Students and teachers had very formal relationships. Teachers at Episcopal are not just educating their students, but they are also their students' biggest cheerleaders—I couldn’t think of my teachers as my close friends like Arman does. Although, I have not been back to India for the last 27 years and I still have some very close friends from high school.

WHY DID YOU CONSIDER A BOARDING SCHOOL FOR ARMAN?

My work schedule unfortunately limited which extracurriculars Arman was able to participate in during middle school. We chose boarding school because we wanted him to pursue all of his passions without limits.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO SEND HIM TO EHS?

We fell in love with EHS because this school aims to have well-rounded and culturally competent students. From the variety of athletic and artistic opportunities, to the Washington Program, Arman has never felt like he has had any limitations at EHS.

HOW HAS EHS IMPACTED YOUR SON’S LIFE?

Arman has continued to grow into a confident, intelligent, caring, and passionate person thanks to EHS. He has made friendships I know will last him a lifetime. At EHS, students have this wonderful community of teachers, coaches, and fellow students rooting for them. Arman has had the courage and drive to reach outside of his comfort zone more often because of this supportive network.

HOW DID THE DECISION TO SEND ARMAN TO BOARDING SCHOOL AFFECTED HIS RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOU?

Any parent knows that children grow up so fast! At first, like any mother, I was worried about him, but just a few weeks into his freshman year, I could already see how happy he was at this school. Most importantly, EHS puts in the work to include parents in its community, so I still get to feel like I'm a part of Arman's world.
