The Daily Report

The Health Center maintains a continuously updated electronic posting of student health status known as the Daily Report. It is available for viewing only by faculty, coaches, and staff on the password-protected faculty and staff portal on the School's website. The purpose of this report is to inform faculty and coaches of students who are excused from or have alterations in their required participation with any campus commitment (class, sports, dorm check-in, etc.) due to health reasons.
This report takes into consideration illness requiring observation in the Health Center; students at home with a medical excuse; students away from campus for health appointments; and students with limited sports participation due to illness or injury, etc. In order to protect the student’s privacy and right to confidential care, specific information about a student’s health issue is NOT posted on this list. In general, students are placed on this list and removed from this list after direct communication with the health center staff or the athletic trainers. Students are always directly informed of their status and are required to abide by the rules accompanying their status as outlined below.

List of 6 items.

Parents who retain a student at home due to illness or appointment are required to directly notify the Health Center by email or phone in advance, or as soon as known. When the student returns to campus after being at home for health matters, the he/she is required to notify or check in at the Health Center, and he/she may be required to submit documentation of medical care to the Health Center.

This designates a student for whom the Health Center or parent has arranged a health-related appointment off campus in the local community. The student will be returning to campus on the same day but is excused from any commitments while away at the appointment; times of which are indicated on the Daily Report. Students departing campus for an appointment, regardless of their means of departure (parent, faculty, taxi, etc.) are required to leave from the Health Center and check in at the Health Center upon their return.
  • Concussion Restrictions

This designates a student whom the health center staff or athletic training staff has determined unable to participate in any sports or athletic activity due to illness or injury. This includes no participation or involvement in team or individual sports, exercise or weight-room activities, recreational sports activities around campus, etc. However, the student IS required to attend any scheduled athletic commitments (practices, games) and remain present without participating. A student remains on this list until explicitly cleared by a member of the health center staff or athletic training staff.
  • Sports as Tolerated

This designates a student whom the Health Center or athletic training staff has determined able to participate in sports or athletic activity but with restrictions to the activity as discussed with the student. This may include situations in which a student is required to use a brace during sports or has recently been ill and should be slowly returning to full-participation levels. A student remains on this list until explicitly cleared by a member of the health center staff or athletic training staff.
