Anne works as a learning specialist helping students reach their full potential. She enjoys teaching students individually and in small groups to better understand material in a variety of disciplines and identify strategies that will help them draw on their strengths. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from the University of Virginia. She also received a master’s degree in health science from Johns Hopkins University. She has a wide range of experience in education, having taught at the pri­mary, secondary, and adult levels.

In addition to her work in the Academic Support Center, she runs the peer tutoring program and works on the night time study hall team. She previously taught 9th grade English at EHS. Anne lives in Alexandria with her husband Justin Ward and her dog Dusty. They have three grown children, Mary Cary, Charles, and Katie.
