Evan Hudspeth

Evan recently completed 23 years of active duty service in the Coast Guard, having earned the rank of Commander and specializing in port safety, security, and environmental protection. During that time, he spent four years as a chemistry instructor at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and became hooked on teaching. While stationed in the D.C. area Evan taught night school at a local community college, and was an assistant coach for a local high school crew team. 

At EHS, Evan teaches chemistry, coaches fall and spring rowing, and serves on the dorm team at Hoxton. He lives on campus with his wife, Melissa, who works as an occupational therapist. Their daughter, Cailyn, is a graduate student at Northwestern University; their son, Drew, is a student at UVA; and their son, Christian ’19, is a student at EHS. They have two cats named Peanut and Butter, and a dog named Toby.
