Kim became chair of Episcopal’s Science Department after serving eight years as an associate professor of chemistry at Loyola College in Maryland. She was a tenured professor teaching general and analytical chemistry and a research associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. A graduate of Rhodes College, Kim pursued her doctoral degree in analytical electrochemistry and enjoys sharing her passion for science with students at Episcopal.

In addition to her responsibilities in the Science Department, Kim serves as a member of the Harrison Dorm team and as an advisor to the yearbook, “Whispers,” and the Science Olympiad team. When asked what she likes most about teaching at Episcopal, she said that she “enjoys the close connections that I am able to make with students in a 100 percent boarding community. I love seeing young people grow and discover something about themselves as they gain academic and personal confidence day by day.” Kim and her husband Kaj, live on campus with their sons Stefan '21 and Erik.
