An American literature specialist with an interest in detective fiction, Tim has taught courses in these disciplines at Episcopal for many years. Prior to coming to EHS, he taught in Japan, Atlanta, and his hometown of Roanoke, Va. He teaches younger children through the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program in the summer and has also served as a reading consultant for the AP exam in language and composition.

At Episcopal, Tim is faculty advisor to the Honor Committee, serves on the Administrative Duty Team, and coaches Maroon & Black soccer and cross training. He lives on campus with his wife, EHS Spanish teacher Rocío Mendizábal, and has six children, including Alex ’04, Teo ’12, and Louie ’15.
