Departments and Positions:
Social Studies Teacher
School Extension 4130
Stefanie joined the Episcopal faculty in 2014 after practicing law for nearly four years. She graduated from Duke University in 2005 with a B.A. in history and political science. She earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law School in 2010.

While at Duke, Stefanie was a four-year varsity letter winner, and two-time captain of the women’s lacrosse team. Following graduation, Duke established an annual award in my name, given each year to the Duke women’s lacrosse player who “best exemplifies the qualities of a great leader.” She has over eight years of coaching experience at the college level. Stefanie is still practicing law as an associate for Ekstrand & Ekstrand, LLP based in Durham, N.C.

Stefanie isn’t new to the boarding school life. She attended St. Paul’s School in Concord, N.H., where she received the distinguished Loomis Medal for the top female athlete in the school.
At Episcopal, Stefanie teaches Modern World History, Introduction to Constitutional Law, and Legal Principles and Trial Advocacy, serves as the public policy concentration advisor for the Washington Program, and is the assistant coach for girls’ varsity lacrosse. She also works with the NCAA to draft and interpret women's lacrosse playing rules. Stefanie lives on campus with her husband Stephen, daughter Savannah Jane, son Sullivan John, and English Bulldog Winston.
