Amila Williams

Departments and Positions:
Associate Dean of Students
Track and Field Coach
Spanish Teacher
School Extension 4077
In her 20 years in education, Amila has taught in both the public and independent school systems. She has served as a teacher, coach, advisor, dorm parent, dean, and Director of Student Life. Work has taken her to metro Atlanta, the north Georgia mountains, and most recently, Long Island, N.Y.

Amila is a native of Philadelphia, but grew up in Silver Spring, Md., just around the beltway from Episcopal; she is happy to return to the area where she attended both middle and high school. Amila earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish and Political Science, but her love for the Spanish language was nurtured during a service abroad program as a high school student in Oaxaca, Mexico. This was then cemented during a semester abroad in the Dominican Republic as a college junior. After several years in education, Amila earned her master’s degree in Curriculum Design and Instruction. Though she has worked as a corporate trainer, she is most passionate about education, youth and social justice.

Amila is proud wife to Thaddius and mother to their three children, the oldest of whom attends Episcopal (class of 2022). In her free time, you can find her hanging out with one of her sisters, reading a good book, or just relaxing outside listening to some great music.
