Cary McHenry Stewart '62

Mr. Stewart was the best wrestler among four amazingly gifted Stewart brothers from Baltimore: Charlie '52, Van '54, Cary, and Warren '63. He never lost a regular season match in four years of varsity wrestling at EHS - most of his wins were by pins - and his only three defeats came in the finals of the Washington Area Tournament his first three years. He won that event his senior year and was selected as the Most Outstanding Wrestler, the highest wrestling honor given in the Washington area. Mr. Stewart served as co-alternate captain his sophomore year, co-captain his junior year, and
captain his senior year. He received the Charles Morton Stewart III Award for wrestling his senior year.

Off the mat, Mr. Stewart served as Head Monitor and Chairman of the Honor Committee. He was captain of the wrestling team at the University of Virginia.
