Alumnus Greg Morgan Wins NCAA Title in Track

Greg Morgan ’15 won the national title in the 3000-meter race at the NCAA Division III indoor track national championships on Saturday.
Morgan, a senior at Haverford College outside Philadelphia, Pa., ran to a time of 8:14.71 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, beating 2018 cross-country champion Dhruvil Patel of North Central College (Ill.) by almost two seconds.

Greg entered the meet as the top seed in the event, having posted the fastest time during the regular season. A few days earlier, he had been named the Mideast Region Indoor Track Athlete of Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. He also earned All-America honors during the fall cross country season and in both outdoor and indoor track last year.

At Episcopal, Greg ran cross country and indoor and outdoor track all four years while making the honor roll every semester. He won multiple conference championships and the mile race at the 2014 state indoor championships.
