St. Mary's Beats Maroon

Despite excellent practices, the team struggled to defeat their opponent.
The girls JV lacrosse team started out the week with a solid practice on Monday, competing in a newly-introduced—thanks to Coach Benedict—2 v 2 ground ball drill, and working on draw control, as well as target-specific passing against tight defense. In spite of these key game-prep strategies, the team came up short in the Tuesday game against St. Mary's of Annapolis. Mostly, St. Mary's out-hustled the girls, and they also had a very strong passing game, making it hard for the Maroon to keep up. Missy Brandt '20 had four goals, three ground balls, and two draw controls. Captain Catie Medick '19 also added two draw controls and maintained good composure during the game. Janil Cohen '21 had one goal and two ground balls, and Jackie Lukes '21 added a ground ball.
