Mark T. Carter

Biography:
Mark's career in the performing arts has been vast. He holds a Bachelors of Music Education from James Madison University, and a Masters of Arts in Instrumental Conducting and a Masters of Science in Music Education, both from the University of South Florida.

Before arriving on The Holy Hill, Mark spent several years in Orlando, Fla., where he served as the Director of Bands at the Dr. Phillips High School Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School and Ocoee High School, and Virginia's Annandale High School in Fairfax County. He also served as a member of the Walt Disney Company for 18 years.

Mark has instructed marching band, Drum Corps, concert band, orchestra, musical theater, jazz ensemble, music theory, music history, music technology, audio engineering and the History of Rock during his career in teaching.

At Episcopal, Mark conducts the wind ensemble, string ensemble, percussion ensemble, orchestra, and jazz ensemble, in addition to teaching Audio Engineering in the state-of-the-art recording studio located in the Ainslie Arts facility. Mark is the Berkeley dorm head, a student adviser, a member of the Student Assistance Team, the Faculty Advisor to the Disciplinary Committee, and the Chair of the Performing and Visual Arts Department.
