Sharing diverse life experiences, ideas, and values, students learn humility, resilience, and mutual respect. Through access to the educational and cultural resources of the nation's capital, students are inspired to understand and embrace a changing world. Together, faculty and students take initiative as informed citizens and environmental stewards.
Through formal and informal learning experiences, students study environmental science and social studies; develop an understanding of the importance of preserving natural resources, both at the School and in the greater community; and learn the value of giving to others through sustainable and green-service practices. The School stewards by example, whether through ensuring that all new campus buildings are LEED certified, facilitating environmental science courses, replacing light bulbs, or improving the trash and recycling system on campus. Through these efforts, and the continuing education of the School community, Episcopal continues to make great strides in becoming a greener and more sustainable campus.
