Don't miss the dedication of Episcopal's new athletics center and a chance to cheer the Maroon on to victory "under the lights" in Hummel Bowl.
Friday, October 8, 2010, will be a special day on the Hill, so plan now to be a part of it! Events will begin at 3:30 p.m., and the day will include:
- A dedication ceremony for the new 60,000-square-foot athletics center;
- Tours of the new athletics center and renovated Centennial Gymnasium, Flippin Field House,and Wrestling Cage;
- Athletic events throughout the afternoon; and
- Friday Night Lights: Varsity Field Hockey and Varsity Football "under the lights" in the Hummel Bowl.
The new athletics center is part of Episcopal's capital campaign, The Promise, which aspires to strengthen and secure the very core of the Episcopal experience.
The 60,000-square-foot facility is the first expansion to indoor athletics space in over 40 years. In that time, EHS has introduced co-education, doubled the number of interscholastic teams, and increased enrollment by 50%. The space will provide an auxiliary gym with two full-size basketball courts, a new fitness center, locker facilities, team meeting rooms, a Hall of Fame, and offices for the EHS Athletics Department.
