Atlanta Kicks Off Regional Campaign
January 18, 2010
The Promise Campaign hit the road in January, hosting a campaign reception in Atlanta, Ga., to launch the Atlanta Regional Campaign. Nearly 100 alumni, parents, and friends attended the event, which was hosted by Sarah and Scott Goodman ’78 (current parents of Campbell ’12) and held at the Peachtree Golf Club in Atlanta.
Before introducing Headmaster Rob Hershey, Atlanta Campaign Chair Scott Goodman spoke about his family’s experience at Episcopal High School. He said that he and his wife were “seeing the best of EHS” through their son’s experience, and that his son was “both receiving an excellent education and learning important lessons of honor, integrity, and spirituality.” Goodman added that he is particularly pleased that the core values he and his father (Frank Goodman ’44) learned at EHS remain central to the mission of the School today.
Headmaster Hershey thanked the crowd for coming, provided an overview of the campaign priorities, and introduced the campaign video, which is available for online viewing at The Promise Campaign website.
Alumni of all ages came out for the launch, from the class of 1948 to 2006. The Atlanta Regional Campaign has started strong with more than 20 committee members and the first off-campus campaign kickoff event. Regional kickoff events in Richmond, Charlotte, and New York City are planned for the coming months.
