Danny Coale '07 Named 2011 James Tatum Award Recipient

Danny Coale ’07, a Virginia Tech senior wide receiver, is the 2011 ACC James Tatum Award recipient. The award is given annually in memory of the late Jim Tatum to the top senior student-athlete among the ACC’s football players. Tatum, a two-time ACC Coach of the Year, coached in the fifties at both the University of Maryland and University of North Carolina and greatly honored the concept of a 'student-athlete.'

While at Episcopal, Coale served as a monitor and was on the Athletic Advisory Board for four years. He was also a four-year member of the varsity football, indoor track, and lacrosse teams. Coale and his older brother, Kevin ’04, grew up in Lexington, Va., with their parents, James and Kathleen Coale.
