Exhibition: “Sense of Place”
Sculptural exhibition invites viewers to open their imaginations.

“Sense of Place,” an exhibition of sculptural installation pieces, was featured in Episcopal’s Angie Newman Johnson Gallery from Jan. 29 through March 9. Works by artists Elizabeth Kendall, Del Harrow, and Jessica Broad invited viewers to open their imaginations and consider the relationships among objects in space.
“I have had the pleasure of visiting the studios of Elizabeth Kendall, Del Harrow, and Jessica Broad. In each space I was filled with a sense of longing related to that feeling of being 5 years old, with only a quarter in my pocket, at the counter of the candy store,” wrote EHS art teacher Liz Vorlicek, who curated the exhibition. “There is a generosity and beauty in these pieces. There is also a greedy and hungry side to this sculpture that asks us to be involved as the viewer in order for us to take anything away from the experience. As humans who approach this sculptural setting, we are called to question our place in the room and our mark on the planet.”
