P
hysical exercise and conditioning are crucial to every teenager’s wellbeing; beginning the habits and routines of exercise at a young age is important to lifelong health. At Episcopal High School, physical activity is a key component in the curriculum.
In addition to exercise for the sake of health, Episcopal is committed to the values taught by competition: sportsmanship, self-discipline, and perseverance. Most importantly, Episcopal’s athletic teams provide an opportunity for students from diverse backgrounds to learn the value of teamwork, cooperation, and mutual respect.
Each year, EHS fields 43 interscholastic teams (including 25 varsity and 18 JV teams) in 15 different sports. More than 375 students per year participate on these teams, and most of the freshmen participate in interscholastic competition during all three seasons.
Additional athletic offerings include kayaking, rock climbing, dance, group fitness, cross training, and strength training.
