Effective theater can move an audience to laugh, to think, or even to cry. It transports us out of our everyday lives and into a world where characters speak what they feel, and not always what they ought to say. The goal of EHS Theater is to provide a meaningful experience for the student actors and technicians involved in our shows, developing their skills of expression and communication in service of the story and the audience. We choose our scripts heavily from classical theater and other stories that reflect the themes, ideas, and cultures studied in English, history, and foreign language classes.
“EHS Theater is a place where I am able to be myself. I was telling my friends ‘I
get to go home for dinner tonight’ because all the people from the play were
eating in the Black Box Theater, and this is the place on campus where I know
I’m at home.”
Dayzia Terry '15, Washington D.C.
