EHS Theater produces three large-scale productions each year coinciding with the three afternoon activity seasons. Students in all grades can participate as actors, carpenters, dancers, charge artists, light board operators, and more. Those with unique gifts and training may have additional opportunities to study theatrical design or choreography in the context of the production.
We rehearse primarily during the afternoon option activity period Monday—Friday, and students are able to participate when they are not fulfilling one of their 6 seasons of Athletic Requirement. There are also opportunities for students concurrently involved in sports to take on minor roles in some productions, rehearsing on weekends or before evening study hall. Students electing to be involved in theater are required to participate in a weekly fitness program.
Students participating in EHS Theater receive one-third non-academic elective credit.
