In-depth work in the arts often requires more time than is available in class. Afternoon art programs provide that time.
Students may choose to participate in one of these programs in lieu of a sport for one athletic season, and seniors may choose these programs for two seasons. Students electing these activities are required to participate in a fitness program under the supervision of a fitness trainer.
Afternoon Dance is taught as a performing art, and the program is administered by the Arts Department. However, because the discipline certainly demands conditioning and exercise, Episcopal grants PE credit for dance.
Afternoon Dance is open to boys and girls in any season. Performance options are based on the skills of the students.
Students participating in Afternoon Dance receive one-third non-academic elective credit.
