The Ainslie Arts Center, named in recognition of former Headmaster Sandy Ainslie ’56 and his wife, Sharon, provides a magnificent setting for the School’s arts programs. This $10 million project brings together the visual and performing arts programs into one facility, and significantly increases the visibility of the arts at EHS.

The Ainslie Arts Center is completely wired to the EHS network and the Internet and includes the following features:

Painting and drawing studios
Professional and student art galleries
Digital photography studio and darkroom with advanced equipment for scanning and printing
Ceramics studio with gas and electric kilns
Dance studio with a sprung wood floor, full-length mirrors and barre
Large ensemble rehearsal rooms
Instrument practice rooms designed for acoustical integrity
MIDI Lab and 24-channel digital recording studio
Piano studio with twin grand pianos
100-seat black box theater with full catwalk
Scene and costume shops
Green room with dressing rooms and mirrors
State-of-the-art auditorium with 540 seats
