Prior to founding WorldBrain, he spent a year teaching in China, participated in the creation of two successful businesses, and managed a federal contracting company. Jakob lives in Boston, Mass., with his dog, Bourbon.

    Jane Pope Cooper '96

    Jane Pope Cooper ’96, owner of Jane Pope and Balboa Jewelry, has been designing jewelry since 2001. A graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Gemological Institute of America, Jane designs one-of-kind pieces that incorporate vintage elements and newly found materials. Jane’s jewelry has been featured in national magazines including Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, and Seventeen and is a favorite among celebrities, such as Natalie Portman. Jane, her husband Tyler, and their eight-month-old son, Wade, reside in Washington, D.C., having recently relocated here from New York.

    Jim Everett ’67

    Jim Everett ’67 received his law degree from Wake Forest University Law School in 1974. After 36 years in private practice, primarily in litigation, he retired last year. Jim continues to stay busy with many interests and activities, including becoming a licensed D.C. tour guide. He recently married Carolyn Roberts, and the couple resides in Chevy Chase, Md.

His credits include being the executive producer of “Gossip Girl” and a writer for both “Gilmore Girls” and “The O.C.” Stephens has recently taken on a new endeavor, novelist. His first novel, “The Emerald Atlas: Book One in The Books of Beginning Trilogy,” was released in April 2011. Stephens holds a master's of fine arts from the University of Virginia. He and his wife, Arianne, reside in Los Angeles with their son, Dashiell, and their dog named Bug.
