Why did you decide to attend a boarding school?

The decision to attend a boarding school was not easy, but ultimately turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. In the end, a boarding school offers a student more independence and college preparation than any other kind of school.

Why did you choose to attend EHS?

I chose to attend EHS because I felt that the community was warmer and more welcoming than all of the other boarding schools that I visited. Moreover, unlike many other great schools, EHS has easy and unlimited access to a great metropolitan area.

How has EHS impacted your life?

EHS has made a significant impact in my life, both academically and socially. I’ve mastered how to balance and manage my time efficiently and can easily say that EHS has given me a great opportunity to pursue my academic interests. Furthermore, EHS has truly helped me understand the value of honesty. Finally, being part of the EHS community has made me realize that each individual decision can have a great impact on the community, both positively and negatively, and that it is imperative for me to always think of how my actions and decision may impact the community.

How has your decision to attend boarding school affected your relationships with your parents and Ania?

The months leading up to our departure for boarding school created a lot of unease throughout my family. The first few months of school were also very uncomfortable for me as I constantly wondered if it was the right decision to leave my parents. However, I then realized that I would not always be with my family, and that it is important to learn to live without them. The transition to boarding school ultimately made me appreciate the power of family and continues to make the time that I spend with my family a lot more valuable.

What is your favorite part of EHS daily life?

I really enjoy the mornings at EHS. The time before school is a routine period of time that I can customize to fit my needs on a given day. Some days I am able to sleep a little longer, or other days I will wake-up earlier to study and finish my work. This flexibility is surprisingly useful and is a great way to get prepared for a school day.

What have you learned about yourself by being a part of the EHS community?

I have learned a lot about myself by being part of the EHS community. Most importantly, it has proven to me that I have the potential to influence society. I’ve learned this about myself because of the very respectable foundation that the School offers and the character that is built by being part of the community. Overall, being part of the EHS community has taught me that I can, should, and will be a moral and ethical leader in the future.
