A graduate of Deerfield Academy, Emily earned a B.A. in geography from Dartmouth College, where she was elected captain of the varsity swimming team. She then served as associate director of admissions at St. Andrew's School in Delaware for three years, as well as coaching swimming and crew. In 2003 she joined the admissions office at St. Hilda's & St. Hugh's in New York, and she assumed the responsibilities of director there in 2005. Emily lives on campus with her husband, Andrew, and is a part of the Anderson Dorm Team.

In 1989, Vincent graduated from EHS, and in 1996, he returned as a history teacher and an assistant director of admissions. He serves currently as director of financial aid and as an assistant director of admissions. While a student at EHS, he served as chair of the School's Honor Committee. Vincent and his wife, Marina, live on campus.

Jim attended high school at Flint Hill, where he was an All-Met basketball player and All-Met honorable mention soccer player his senior year. In 2000, he graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.A. in sociology. Jim also played basketball in college and was co-captain of Wake's NIT championship team his senior year. Prior to coming to Episcopal, he was head basketball coach, assistant dean of students, and alumni director at Flint Hill, as well as assistant basketball coach at Elon University in North Carolina. In addition to his Admissions role, Jim is an advisor, serves on the Hummel Dorm team, and is head coach of the boys' varsity basketball team.

Scott graduated from Princeton University with a degree in psychology and started teaching at St. Paul's School in Brooklandville, Md., in fall of 1995. During his 11 years at St. Paul's, he taught middle school math and science and served as a learning specialist in the upper school. In 2003, he earned his master's degree in school psychology from Towson University. In addition to his Admissions responsibilities, Scott serves as a learning specialist, head coach for varsity lacrosse, and assistant varsity football coach. He, his wife, Michele, and their three children, Tyler, Logan, and Cameron, live on Hummel Dorm.

Jaye is a graduate of Greenwich Academy in Connecticut and Williams College. While at Williams, she captained the varsity field hockey and varsity squash teams and was recognized as first team All-American in field hockey. She was president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and was Williams’ representative to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). At Episcopal, Jaye is assistant director of admissions and head coach for both the varsity field hockey and girls’ varsity squash teams. She is also a faculty advisor and a member of the Anderson Dorm Team.

Tara earned both a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in education from the University of Virginia, and spent four years on the school’s basketball team. As a graduate student, she served as a graduate assistant for the team and worked in the college’s career services center. At Episcopal, Tara is an admissions officer and head coach of the girls’ varsity basketball team. She also coaches varsity soccer and serves on the Anderson Dorm Team. She lives in Arlington with her fiancé, Matt Dakolios, and their dog, Devaney.

Part-Time Admissions Interviewer

An alumna of Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pa., Rachael graduated cum laude in history from Princeton with minors in African-American and Latin American studies. She came to EHS after two years at Asheville School in North Carolina, where she taught world history, European history, and helped pilot a new humanities program in world studies. At Episcopal, Rachael teaches history, assists with admissions interviews, and coaches the crew team. She lives on Anderson Dorm with her husband, Barlow, and their cat, Lyndon B. Johnson.

Part-Time Admissions Interviewer

Brad earned both his bachelor’s degree in English and his master’s degree in teaching, with a focus on English, from the University of Virginia. He began his teaching career at the Leysin American School in Switzerland, where he was head of the English Department, dormitory head, soccer coach, and a member of the Honor Council. After three years at Leysin he returned to the United States to teach freshman English in Hanover County, Va. In addition to teaching English, Brad is head coach for girls’ JV soccer and assistant coach for boys’ JV basketball. He lives on Evans Dorm with his wife, Amy, who is dorm head, and their daughter, Savannah.

Barbara joins the Admissions staff after having worked for the Alexandria Public Library system. For many years, Barbara worked for both public and independent school systems as well as non-profit institutions. As an admissions assistant, she is responsible for publishing the weekly visitors’ list, greeting prospective students and their families, and assisting with admissions mailings and other projects. Barbara and her husband, Patrick, current president of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), live in Alexandria.

Susan has been a member of the Episcopal community for ten years, and has served the School in various capacities: registrar, assistant college counselor, freshman and sophomore advisor, and Anderson dorm duty officer. In Admissions, Susan divides her time between her project management duties of planning and coordinating the Open House events as well as overseeing the department’s advertising and travel programs. Susan lives on campus with her husband, Steve, an EHS math teacher and wrestling coach and their two children, Sarah Gray and Kate.

Kristan spent her early childhood on the boarding school campus of Brewster Academy in N.H. where her father was a teacher and grandfather had been the headmaster. After earning a B.S. degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire, she worked for three years at a summer boarding school as the assistant to the head of school. Her primary role as director of admissions operations entails overseeing office operations: supervising the staff, managing the database, and coordinating the extensive communications and technological requirements of the department. Kristan resides in Manassas with her husband, Steve, and dog, Duke.

As visit coordinator for the past eight years, Wendy has been the primary point of contact for all of our Admissions visitors. She is the friendly voice on the phone who schedules interviews and confirms appointments. Wendy also prepares itineraries, manages the office calendar, and greets prospective students and family members upon their arrival at the School. Wendy, her husband, Richard, and daughter, Kristin, live in Clifton.

A graduate of George Mason University, Lee joined the admissions staff in August of 2008 after working in publishing. She is primarily responsible for the extensive data entry requirements of the office. She processes inquiries and applications, mails information packets, and maintains the extensive filing system. Lee and her husband, Jonathan, live in Falls Church.
