Liz was educated at New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. While at Alfred, she received her master’s and bachelor’s degrees. She also worked at the Scholes Library of Ceramics and Engineering and was a teaching assistant. Liz taught in Seattle, Wash., at Pottery Northwest, before she started her career at Episcopal. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Liz leads the afternoon art program, is co-director of the Angie Newman Johnson Gallery and a student advisor, and serves on the Harrison Dorm team.

Liz is a ceramic sculptor and has shown her work both nationally and internationally. She and her husband, Nat Duffield, live on campus.
