Jane is a graduate of Dwight Englewood School in New Jersey. She earned her undergraduate degree in economics from Barnard College at Columbia University and began working as a research analyst on a fixed income trading floor in New York. Jane then worked as a freelance and contract graphic artist, which she continued until 2001. She took two years of instruction in studio art from the Art Students League of New York, and later ran a cooperative art group for figure painting and drawing out of her studio in Chico, Calif.In 2002, Jane completed a certificate in database application design and development from Columbia and began teaching middle and high school technology and high school computer programming at Ross School in East Hampton, N.Y. She went on to serve as an elementary school technology teacher and librarian at an elementary school. Jane earned a master’s degree in liberal studies, with an emphasis on education technology, from SUNY Stony Brook and a master’s degree in library science from Queens College.At Episcopal, Jane is director of the David H. March Library, where she combines her experience in the classroom with her expertise in technology and library science. She lives in Alexandria with her Australian cattle dog, Bonnie. |
