A creative writing, cinema, and American literature specialist, Tim has taught courses in these disciplines at Episcopal for many years. Prior to coming to EHS, he taught in Japan, Atlanta, and his hometown of Roanoke, Va. He teaches younger children through the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) program in the summer and also serves as a reading consultant for the AP exam in language and composition.

At Episcopal, Tim serves on the activities team, directs the Writing Center, and coaches boys’ lacrosse and cross training. He lives on campus with his wife, EHS Spanish teacher Rocío Mendizábal, and their six children, including Alex ’04.
