J. Mason New Director of Faculty Development, English M.A. St. John's College B.A. Washington and Lee University

A graduate of The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey, Mason came to Episcopal from Severn School in Annapolis, Md., where he taught Latin and assisted with lacrosse. He also served six years in the Marine Corps Reserve. Mason was selected as one of the 2004 Alexandria Education Partnership Excellence in Education Award winners.

In addition to teaching English, Mason serves as the director of faculty development. He is also the head coach of boys’ junior lacrosse and a member of the Berkeley Dorm team where he lives with his wife, Melissa, and their daughter, Ibby.
