Betsy is a graduate of Episcopal High School, where she served as a Senior Monitor and was a member of both the Honor Committee and the Vestry. She was a Jefferson Scholar at the University of Virginia and majored in history and psychology. Betsy taught at St. Paul’s School for Girls in Baltimore for two years, teaching modern world history, U.S. history, and electives in African history and 20th century women’s history. In addition, she served as junior class dean, faculty sponsor to the student government, and coached lacrosse and field hockey.

At EHS, Betsy teaches world and African history, is head coach of the girls’ JV lacrosse team, and serves as an advisor to freshman girls. She is also a ninth grade dean, a member of the committee for Center for the Study of Girls’ Lives, and head of Anderson Dorm, where she lives with her husband, David.
